| The Fred Friendly Seminars are distinguished by the thorough research process employed to find and frame the issues. As we develop each program, we conduct extensive background and historical research; we engage in an intensive interview process with a broad range of key players; and we draw on the expertise both of specially recruited content advisors from relevant fields and from the Harvard Law School professors and critically acclaimed journalists affiliated with the Seminars. A crucial goal of our research is not only to explore every aspect of the policy debate, but to understand exactly how the issues play themselves out in individuals' daily lives: How does a father's opposition to affirmative action policies affect his African-American daughter's choices in applying to colleges?
