Dr. Chen has been a doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with clinical practice for more than thirty years. In the early eighties, she made special research in febrile diseases and illness in respiration and immune systems. Once she carried out a research work & clinical observation of 851 aged patients suffering from chronic bronchitis, 360 of whom were suffering from gasping bronchitis. Treatment of those mentioned illnesses with TCM has produced unique curative effectiveness, and in particular, it has obtained significant result in improving & curing coughing asthma with phlegm reduction agent. Five fundamental principles in treating asthma raised by Dr. Chen have greatly improved her clinical curative effect. Her thesis on "Experience in Treatment of Asthma" was published in the Journal of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and was also translated into Japanese.
