The first students were enrolled in the Mandl School for Doctor's Assistants in 1924. The founder, Mr. M.M. Mandl, a biology teacher, operated the school under the corporation name of Mandl School, Inc. The school was established to fill the need for trained assistants to work in physician's offices, a need that was not being met by nursing or public schools.
