New York Theatre Ballet celebrated its 25th anniversary this past year. The Company has become the nation's most widely-seen chamber ballet ensemble and one of its most highly respected. It offers a distinctive classical repertory which includes contemporary choreography as well as classical works by many of the greatest and most esteemed choreographers of this century. Under the leadership of founder and artistic director Diana Byer, NYTB has become known for its theatrical expressiveness, high production quality, excellence of technique, accessibility, and emphasis on intimacy with its audiences. Its pioneering community service programs and performance programs designed especially for children and families have won numerous prestigious awards and have been emulated by other companies including the large ballet companies.
