LIVIU B. SAIMOVICI, M.D. graduated cum laude with his degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Carolina and then began his medical training at the Medical University of South Carolina. After interning at the New York Infirmary Hospital , Dr. Saimovici completed his residency in ophthalmology at the renowned Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington , D.C. There, he was appointed to the position of Chief Resident at several Washington hospitals, and was responsible for the training and supervision of resident surgeons.
