Sporting News is a multi-faceted, multi-platform sports information company that has combined the strengths of three leading sports media companies. In February 2000, Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen bought Sporting News Magazine from Times Mirror. Nine months later, Allen acquired the One-On-One Sports Radio Network and merged it with Sporting News Magazine as part of Allen's Vulcan Sports Media, Inc. Finally, in May 2001, Allen acquired Small World, a leading online fantasy games provider, and created Sporting News as we know it today: a leading sports information company in print, in radio and online with its successful fantasy games.
